Chronological Order of Quran Revelation Used in Allameh Ballaghi’s Quran Interpretation
--By paying careful attention to the chronological order of the Quranic surahs and verses, Allameh Balaghi managed to prove the Holy Quran’s inalterability, according to an Iraqi researcher.
Abd Ali al-Khafaf, the former rector of the faculty of Literature at Kufah University, speaking to IQNA said Allameh Balaghi took advantage of rational arguments, unshakable sources of Hadith, as well as the Holy Quran itself in order to prove the Sacred Scripture remains eternally inalterable.
“From Allameh Balaghi’s point of view, the most pertinent method conforming with logical principles to prove the inalterability of the Quran is to rely on the Holy Book itself, and more precisely, to know why, where and when the verses were revealed to the Great Prophet (PBUH).”
The Iraqi scholar went on to say that the author of Ala ol-Rahman fi Tafsir el-Quran succeeded par excellence in denouncing all sorts of accusations raised by skeptics, who baselessly claimed verses of the Quran have been altered.
Referring to the verse 9 of the surah 15 in the Glorious Quran, “Indeed, it is We who sent down the Quran and indeed, We will be its guardian”, he noted that according to the verse, no one is able to alter a single letter of the Quran, which is guaranteed by the Creator.
Born in Najaf in 1943, Abd Ali al-Khafaf directed the faculty of Literature at Kufa University from 2004 to 2009. He is now in charge of Scientific Development Committee of the university. He has launched “Academic Horizons”, a monthly magazine published by Sulaimaneyah University. He was previously in charge of “Dar-ol-Ketab” Publication affiliated to the University of Basra.
