Quran Translations Should Be Published in the Target Countries
--The publication and distribution of Quran translations into other languages should be financially supported by the target countries, said Hojat-ol-Islam Mohammad Naghdi, head of Tarjoman-e Vahy (Translation of Revelation) Cultural Institute.
He told IQNA that the translations of the holy Quran into other languages should be presented in the countries of the target language instead of Tehran’s International Book Fair.
Referring to the necessity of developing an international market in this sphere, he added: “The English translations of the Quran done in this institute are now being published in England, the US, Canada and the Subcontinent.”
He further noted that the Persian translations of the holy book are expected to come first among other languages.
“English translations should be published in English-speaking countries and the Turkish ones in Istanbul,” he went on to say adding that Turkish translations are now published by Kowsar Publications in Istanbul.
“Such attitude has also led to the publication of Spanish translations of the holy Quran in Madrid and the Azeri-Turkish ones in Baku.”
Hojat-ol-Islam Naghdi further appreciated the efforts made by the Islamic Republic of Iran in this regard, especially following the Islamic Revolution, which have been quite helpful in translating the Divine Scripture into other languages and distributing it in the corresponding countries.
